The Department of History at the University of Nebraska at Kearney gives students a working knowledge of past events, people, ideas and values in the United States and in other parts of the world. The history department’s courses prepare students for a variety of careers from graduate school to teaching.

Those interested in becoming teachers in Nebraska must first be admitted to a Nebraska approved educator preparation program. The Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators tests are the approved Basic Skills test for program admission. Passing scores must be achieved in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
